𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗢𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀

Prominent Nigerian-American family medicine physician, Dr Austin Orette, is set to address journalists and members of the public at a press conference in Lagos, where he is expected to speak on good governance, societal values and policy reforms in Nigeria.

Orette, who has shown interest in issues surrounding governance and socio-economic development, is expected to provide perspectives on a wide range of national and regional concerns affecting Nigeria.

Among the issues to be addressed are socio-economic development and moral values, democracy and civic engagement, healthcare systems and infrastructure, legal justice and land rights, constitutional reform, true fiscal federalism and the post-war crisis.

The physician, who is also focused on changing the local governance landscape, is expected to take questions from local and foreign journalists on political and economic concerns affecting the people of Delta South and the wider Niger Delta region.

Other issues expected to feature prominently at the briefing include structural deficiencies, the decline of civic consciousness, economic stagnation, regional insecurity, decentralisation of power from Abuja, stronger local governance and regional resource control in the Niger Delta.

The press conference is expected to provide an opportunity for Orette to outline his views on possible reforms capable of strengthening governance, improving public services and addressing longstanding socio-economic challenges.

According to a statement by the Director of Communications, MediaGate Management, Mr Henry Ebireri, the event is intended to provide journalists and the public with important information on the issues.

“The press conference which will hold in Lagos is to share important information with journalists and the public,” Ebireri said.

The event is expected to attract journalists, stakeholders and members of the public interested in Nigeria's political, economic, healthcare and constitutional development.
