Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has maintained a close relationship with his family since his childhood.

Davido made the disclosure while speaking about his relationship with Dangote during a recent interview in Lagos.

According to the singer, Dangote’s relationship with his family dates back decades, adding that the business mogul even drove his mother home from the hospital after his birth.

“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me,” Davido said.

The singer also disclosed that Dangote had consistently offered him financial advice, particularly on the importance of saving and managing his earnings.

Davido said the billionaire businessman still reminds him to save whenever they meet.

“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” he said.

The award-winning artiste noted that Dangote’s advice had remained relevant throughout his career in the entertainment industry.

Davido further described billionaires as ordinary people despite their enormous wealth, saying their lifestyles are often different from how they are perceived by the public.

He also identified Dangote as a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, stressing that the relationship between both families had endured for decades.

The singer said his personal relationship with Dangote, which began during his childhood, has continued into his adult life.
