The Board of Peace has announced what it described as a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in the Gaza Strip, marking what it says is a significant step toward achieving lasting peace and security in the region.

According to the announcement, the agreement provides for the establishment of a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to administer Gaza and oversee efforts aimed at improving the welfare of the Palestinian people. It also states that Israel's security concerns would be addressed by ensuring that Gaza is no longer used as a base for armed attacks.

The agreement forms part of what has been described as the "Trump 20-Point Plan" and is expected to be implemented in carefully structured phases. Under the framework, Israeli forces are to withdraw progressively as disarmament is completed, while an International Stabilization Force, working alongside a newly established Palestinian police force, will assume responsibility for maintaining security in Gaza.

The statement noted that the agreement follows months of conflict that left Gaza devastated, triggered a humanitarian crisis, and saw hostages held in captivity. It described the latest development as a major milestone, while acknowledging that significant work remains before long-term stability can be achieved.

The Board of Peace also expressed appreciation to the mediators—Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye—for their diplomatic efforts in facilitating the agreement. It further commended members of its negotiating team for their role in reaching the breakthrough.

Reaffirming its position on regional security, the Board stated that the threats that emerged from Gaza during the October 7 attacks would not be allowed to re-emerge. It added that the new governance arrangement is intended to place Gaza under a Palestinian administration focused on serving the interests of its people.

The announcement concluded by describing the agreement as a landmark achievement in ongoing efforts to bring peace, stability, and security to Gaza and the wider Middle East.
