Claims circulating on social media that Russian President is constructing a Russian embassy in Aba, Abia State, are false.

A fact-check conducted by NigerDelta Voice found no credible evidence to support the viral claim. Investigations revealed that neither the Russian government nor Nigerian authorities have announced plans to establish a Russian embassy or consulate in Aba.

Russia maintains only one official diplomatic mission in Nigeria, located in , which serves as the country's embassy and handles diplomatic affairs nationwide. There has been no official statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Nigerian government indicating that another embassy is being built in Aba.

The viral posts, which have been widely shared across social media platforms, do not provide verifiable sources, official documents, or evidence linking any construction project in Aba to the Russian government.

NigerDelta Voice's findings indicate that the claim is another example of misinformation designed to mislead the public and generate online engagement.

Members of the public are advised to verify sensational claims through official government channels and reputable news organizations before sharing them.
