An Urhobo indigene, Eyamu Oghenenyerovwo Peculiar, has made history by emerging as the first female President of the Students' Union Government (SUG) of the University of Abuja.

Her election marks a significant milestone in the institution's history, breaking a long-standing gender barrier in student leadership. The victory has been widely described as a testament to her determination, resilience, and commitment to service.

Eyamu, who hails from Egini Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, has received widespread congratulations from students, community leaders, and well-wishers across the country. Her emergence is being celebrated as a proud moment for the Urhobo nation, Delta State, and the Niger Delta region.

Observers say her victory reflects the increasing participation of women in leadership and underscores the importance of competence, vision, and dedication in public service.

As she assumes office, members of the university community have expressed optimism that her administration will prioritise students' welfare, foster unity, and strengthen collaboration between the Students' Union and the university management.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route. Local authorities are expected to begin investigations into the incident.
