Niger Delta activist and traditional ruler, Asari Dokubo, has revealed that he did not receive any inheritance from his late father despite being the first son in his family, attributing the decision to his conversion to Islam.

Dokubo made the disclosure in a video shared on Facebook on Sunday, July 19, 2026, while reflecting on his family background, religious journey, and the personal sacrifices he made after embracing Islam.

According to him, his choice of faith came with significant consequences, including being excluded from inheriting his father's property.

"I did not inherit anything from my father as the first son because I'm a Muslim," Dokubo said.

He explained that although the experience was painful, he accepted it without allowing it to weaken his commitment to his religious beliefs.

Dokubo said he chose to move on without resentment, stressing that faith and personal conviction are more important than material possessions.

The former Niger Delta militant leader further called for respect for religious freedom, saying no one should face discrimination or exclusion because of the faith they choose to practice.

He maintained that he has no regrets over his decision to embrace Islam, insisting that his principles and beliefs are worth more than any inheritance he might have received.
