𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮, 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮.

Efforts have commenced to revive the long-dormant Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Community Station in Amukpe, Sapele, Delta State, as stakeholders move to restore public broadcasting services and strengthen grassroots communication in Delta Central Senatorial District.

The move was disclosed following engagements between Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, and the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, on practical steps to bring the station back to life.

The Amukpe NTA facility, which is the only NTA community station in Delta State outside the Asaba station, has remained inactive for several years, leaving residents of Sapele and neighbouring communities with limited access to government-owned local television programming.

Stakeholders said the revival of the station would enhance information dissemination, promote local culture, provide a platform for community voices, and support development-oriented programmes across Delta Central.

The development comes amid renewed calls for the restoration of abandoned strategic assets in Sapele. Community leaders and residents have continued to advocate for initiatives capable of returning the historic commercial city to its former economic prominence.

The revival of the NTA facility is expected to create opportunities for media professionals, youths, and local content creators while improving coverage of events and issues affecting communities in the region.

Meanwhile, calls have also intensified for the revitalisation of Sapele Port and other Delta ports as part of broader efforts to unlock the economic potential of the state.

Residents expressed optimism that the return of NTA operations in Sapele would mark a significant step towards restoring the city’s role as a major centre for information, culture, and commerce in the Niger Delta.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route.
