Award-winning Nigerian music star Davido has stirred widespread reactions on social media after revealing that he spends about ₦400 million every month in Nigeria, excluding household expenses.

The singer's statement quickly went viral, prompting Nigerians to debate the cost of maintaining a celebrity lifestyle, with many questioning the amount while others defended his financial capacity.

Comments seen under a social media post by Vanguard News reflected the mixed opinions of Nigerians.

One user, Lanre West, sarcastically wrote, "I spend 410 million every hour."

Another commenter, Emman Ekong, said, "Sooo? I spend over 1b Naira every month but I don't publish it," suggesting that publicizing personal spending was unnecessary.

Reacting to the comment, Umar Abubakar questioned the comparison, writing, "So what do you know how much alakara sent daily," while another user, Gomballang Samson Joseph, made a separate remark referencing singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

Others simply congratulated Davido, with some acknowledging his success and luxurious lifestyle.

The revelation has continued to generate conversations across social media, with supporters arguing that the singer's businesses, music career and endorsements justify such spending, while critics view the claim as an unnecessary display of wealth amid Nigeria's economic challenges.

The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned.
