The Ondo State Government has unveiled the Lucky Light Initiative, a statewide solar empowerment programme aimed at supporting 1,000 small businesses across the state's 18 Local Government Areas with renewable energy solutions.
According to information contained in the programme's promotional material, the initiative is designed to boost economic activities by reducing the cost of electricity for small-scale enterprises while promoting the use of clean energy.
Beneficiaries of the programme will receive a standardized solar power kit comprising solar panels, an inverter system, battery storage, a charge controller, as well as installation and setup services at no cost.
The initiative is expected to provide reliable electricity to traders, artisans and other small business owners, enabling them to improve productivity, reduce dependence on fuel-powered generators and lower operating expenses.
The programme is being promoted under the theme, "Powering the Economy of Ondo State," reflecting the government's commitment to expanding access to sustainable energy and strengthening the state's small business sector.
Interested applicants have been directed to submit their applications through the official portal at www.ondea.ng/luckylight.
