𝗕𝗬 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗔 𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗖𝗘,

𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮, 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮.

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has expressed satisfaction with the level of work completed on the ongoing 21-kilometre first phase of the Nembe-Brass Road project, describing it as a historic infrastructure development that will permanently connect Nembe and Brass Local Government Areas by road for the first time.

Governor Diri made the remarks on Friday during an inspection tour of the project site. He was accompanied by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Nembe-Brass Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, alongside other top government officials.

Speaking during the inspection, the governor said the progress recorded on the project reflects his administration's commitment to transforming the state's infrastructure and improving the lives of residents.

"I feel accomplished. It is one thing to have the vision and another thing to have the will to execute it. We will continue to hold the contractor to the agreed timeline. Financially, we have never disappointed them, and I believe they will not disappoint us," Diri stated.

He noted that the completion of the road would significantly enhance transportation, boost economic activities, and help curb incidents of sea piracy in the area.

"As a Bayelsan, the importance of this road cannot be overemphasized. This is what the people have long desired, and my greatest joy is that the people are happy with the project," he added.

Earlier, the Area Manager of Setraco, Mr. Joajoa Cosme, assured the governor and residents that work was progressing steadily and that the first phase of the road project would be completed by December 2026.

The Nembe-Brass Road project is widely regarded as one of Bayelsa State's most ambitious infrastructure initiatives, expected to improve connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and open up riverine communities to greater development opportunities.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route.
