Obu-Ama community in the Kalabari Kingdom of Rivers State was agog with celebration as Gabriella Harry, daughter of Tonye Harry, exchanged traditional marriage vows with her partner, Isaac Nwanna.

The colourful ceremony drew family members, friends, and dignitaries from different parts of the country, including guests from Nigeria’s South-East region, who travelled to Obu-Ama to witness the union.

The event was marked by vibrant displays of culture and tradition, with guests adorned in elegant traditional attire. Music, dancing, and festivities filled the atmosphere as the newlyweds were formally presented to family members and well-wishers.

In line with Kalabari marriage customs, the bride presented her husband with wrappers and money, symbolising appreciation, respect, and commitment within the traditional marital rites.

Adding to the excitement, performers from the entertained guests with captivating cultural displays, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the Kalabari people.

The ceremony blended cultural pride, family values, and celebration, creating memorable moments for attendees and marking the beginning of a new chapter for the couple.
