The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has raised concerns over alleged discrepancies in tuition fee figures submitted by an Ogun State-based polytechnic to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) platform.

In a video circulating online, a NANS representative alleged that the institution may have uploaded inflated fee figures for students seeking access to the federal student loan scheme.

According to the allegation, Higher National Diploma (HND) I students who reportedly paid about ₦236,000 as tuition fees had their charges uploaded as ₦350,000 on the NELFUND portal. The claim further stated that National Diploma (ND) II students who paid approximately ₦152,000 allegedly had ₦330,000 reflected as their submitted fee amount.

The student body described the development as a possible case of institutional irregularity and called for an investigation into the figures submitted to ensure transparency in the administration of education financing.

NANS urged relevant authorities, including NELFUND and education regulators, to verify the claims and ensure that students are not unfairly burdened or exposed to discrepancies in the loan process.

The institution involved has not yet publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
