Joy, culture, and tradition came alive in Adoloseimo III Community of Arogbo Kingdom, Ondo State, as Pereama Tonwerigha Opukimi Kpemi, daughter of Jekpo Tonwerigha Adaun, was traditionally joined in marriage to her heartthrob, Barrister Opukimi Kpemi.

The colourful ceremony transformed the peaceful riverine community into a hub of celebration, attracting family members, friends, associates, and distinguished guests from across Nigeria. Among the notable attendees were colleagues of the groom under the Nigerian Bar Association, who travelled from various locations to witness the memorable union.

Dressed in elegant traditional attire, guests added glamour and splendour to the occasion as cultural displays, music, and dancing created an atmosphere of excitement and festivity. The celebration showcased the rich heritage of the Arogbo-Ijaw people while bringing together loved ones to honour the newlyweds.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the observance of the revered Arogbo-Ijaw marriage rite, during which the bride served a drink to the groom from a single cup. Barrister Opukimi drank from it and lovingly returned it to Pereama, who also drank from the same cup, an enduring symbol of unity, trust, and their commitment to journey through life as one.

In keeping with cherished Arogbo-Ijaw customs, prayers were made binding the union and the groom was formally presented to the bride's family and relatives in a remarkable display of humility and respect.

The celebration also featured the traditional three songs of thanksgiving and appreciation to God, led by the bride's family. The heartfelt rendition filled the gathering with spiritual joy as family members and guests joined in celebrating the successful union.

The event beautifully blended cultural pride, family values, and community spirit, leaving guests with unforgettable memories while marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of Pereama Tonwerigha Opukimi Kpemi and Barrister Opukimi Kpemi.
