June 12 remains a deeply significant date for Eric Pere Yanyagbini, Esq., as he reflects on a day filled with memories, personal milestones, family celebrations and national importance.
In a heartfelt message, Yanyagbini commemorated the 15th memorial anniversary of his beloved father, General Boanerges Ephenus Owoyemi Dunbaiju Yanyangbini, describing him as a man whose legacy of strength, wisdom and service continues to inspire generations.
According to him, although his father is no longer physically present, the values and principles he upheld remain deeply rooted in the family.
“Daddy, we miss you today and always as we celebrate your legacy daily,” he said, while praying that his father continues to rest in the bosom of God.
The legal practitioner noted that June 12 is also a joyful occasion for his family as it coincides with the birthdays of his daughters and granddaughter, symbolising the continuity of generations and the enduring hope of family.
He added that the period has been marked by other family celebrations, recalling that his son’s birthday came two days earlier while his wife’s birthday was celebrated the previous day.
Beyond personal reflections, Yanyagbini acknowledged the national significance of June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day — a date that represents sacrifice, resilience and the country’s pursuit of freedom and good governance.
He further revealed that June 12 holds another personal milestone, as it was the date he completed the examinations that led to the award of his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree, marking a major turning point in his professional and intellectual journey.
Describing June 12 as a day of mixed emotions, Yanyagbini said the date represents remembrance and celebration, reflection and gratitude, loss and achievement.
He expressed appreciation to God Almighty, noting that life remains a continuous cycle of endings and new beginnings, and that every blessing and memory deserves thanksgiving.
Daddy, your legacy lives on.
