Ondo State Government through the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo, has announced the commencement of recruitment for Consultant and Resident Doctors across multiple medical specialties.

In a recruitment notice issued by the hospital management, applications were invited from qualified, highly motivated and dedicated Medical and Dental Doctors for both consultant appointments and residency training programmes.

According to the hospital, vacancies are available in several departments including Orthopaedic Surgery and its subspecialties, Surgical Specialties, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Medical Microbiology, Histopathology, Radiology, Dentistry, Family Medicine and Community Health.

UNIMEDTH stated that successful candidates would enjoy competitive remuneration under the Federal Government-approved Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS).

The management also disclosed that resident doctors would benefit from the Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF), health insurance packages for staff and their families, institutional support and other incentives attached to the residency programme.

The hospital further noted that resident doctors interested in academic advancement would have the opportunity to pursue PhD programmes during their residency training.

For consultant positions, the institution explained that openings exist under different categories including full hospital consultant, honorary consultant, locum consultant and contract consultant appointments.

Applicants were directed to submit application letters, detailed curriculum vitae, copies of credentials, current practising licences and other relevant documents.

Applications can be submitted physically to the Human Resources Office, UNIMEDTH, Laje Road, Ondo, or electronically through hr@unimedthc.org and cmd@unimedthc.org.

The hospital also provided WhatsApp channels for enquiries and submission of applications.

According to the notice, the deadline for submission of applications is July 31, 2026.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route. Local authorities are expected to begin investigations into the incident.
