An old social media post by has resurfaced online amid renewed concerns over insecurity and terrorist attacks across parts of Nigeria.
The post, dated September 9, 2014, criticized the then administration over persistent Boko Haram attacks in the North-East. In the resurfaced tweet, Tinubu wrote that the “festering Boko Haram attacks on the North East and massacre of innocent citizens is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government.”
The old statement is now drawing widespread reactions on social media as Nigerians compare the country’s current security challenges with the criticism Tinubu made while in opposition.
The resurfacing of the tweet comes at a time when several parts of the country continue to battle terrorism, banditry, kidnappings, and violent attacks, with many citizens expressing frustration over rising insecurity under the present administration.
Critics argue that the same standard Tinubu applied to previous governments should also be applied to his administration, while supporters insist the current security situation is deeply rooted and requires time and coordinated reforms to address.
The development has further reignited national debate over accountability, governance, and the government’s handling of security challenges across Nigeria.
