The Nigerian Navy and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited have pledged to strengthen collaboration in protecting critical Federal Government infrastructure across the Niger Delta region.

The Commander of NNS Delta, Commodore Shehu Tasiu, disclosed this during the inauguration of several projects at the naval base in Warri, Delta State.

The projects inaugurated include car parks, lawn tennis and volleyball courts, as well as accommodation facilities such as the Executive Officer’s institutional residence and self-contained senior rates quarters aimed at improving the welfare of officers and ratings serving at the base.

Tasiu commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for sponsoring the accommodation projects, describing the gesture as a major contribution to operational effectiveness and personnel welfare.

According to him, decent accommodation plays a crucial role in boosting morale, improving focus, and enhancing the readiness of naval personnel responsible for securing oil facilities and protecting the nation’s maritime domain.

He said the partnership between the Navy and Tantita reflects a shared commitment towards national security and economic stability in the Niger Delta.

The naval commander also stressed that maritime security cannot be achieved by the Navy alone, noting that effective protection of the region requires cooperation among security agencies, government institutions, private organisations, and host communities.

Tasiu described Tantita as a responsible private sector partner that has aligned its operations with national security priorities in a lawful and professional manner.

He further called on other corporate organisations and stakeholders to emulate the company by supporting projects that improve the welfare of security personnel through investments in accommodation, healthcare, training facilities, and recreational infrastructure.

Also speaking at the event, the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral SD Ibrahim, described the inaugurated projects as a reflection of operational readiness, strategic partnership, and administrative excellence.

He noted that the accommodation support provided by Tantita would significantly boost the morale and productivity of naval personnel serving in the region.
