The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over worsening economic hardship and insecurity across Nigeria.

The group accused the Federal Government of failing to ease the suffering of ordinary Nigerians amid rising inflation, unemployment and increasing cost of living.

In a statement reacting to the current state of the nation, Afenifere said many citizens are finding it difficult to survive as businesses continue to struggle and job opportunities decline.

The organisation also raised concerns over the growing wave of insecurity affecting several parts of the country, insisting that urgent measures must be taken to protect lives and property.

According to the group, government policies introduced so far have not provided the expected relief to Nigerians, adding that citizens are becoming more frustrated over economic conditions.

Afenifere urged the Tinubu-led administration to review its economic and security strategies in order to address the challenges facing households and businesses nationwide.

The criticism adds to ongoing national debate surrounding the impact of the Federal Government’s economic reforms and efforts to tackle insecurity.

However, officials of the Federal Government have continued to defend the administration’s policies, maintaining that the reforms are necessary for long-term economic stability and national growth.
