The ongoing Rivers State teachers recruitment exercise has entered another phase as Computer-Based Test (CBT) invitations continue to be sent to shortlisted applicants across the state.
Findings show that several candidates have already received emails containing their examination schedules, with some fixed for May 18, 2026, while others have been scheduled for May 21 and additional dates as the process continues.

Applicants preparing for the CBT have been advised to concentrate on key subject areas likely to appear during the examination. These include candidates’ areas of specialization, General Studies, Use of English, and Mathematics.

Reports from applicants indicate that fresh invitation emails are still being released in batches, raising hopes among candidates yet to receive notifications for the next stage of the recruitment exercise.
Prospective teachers who have not received emails were urged to remain calm and continue checking their inboxes, including spam and junk folders, to avoid missing important updates from the recruitment committee.

The Rivers State Government had earlier approved the recruitment of 5,000 teachers into public schools across the state as part of efforts to improve the education sector and address manpower shortages in classrooms.

The recruitment exercise was approved by Siminalayi Fubara during a State Executive Council meeting held in Port Harcourt.
