An aspirant for the House of Representatives under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Godfrey Kofi Kowei, has commenced an extensive round of grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder consultations across the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The engagement, which cuts across key political actors, community leaders, and party stakeholders, is aimed at consolidating support and strengthening his political structure within the constituency.
During the consultations, Kowei reportedly received significant endorsement and acceptance from influential stakeholders in Ilaje Local Government, reflecting growing momentum behind his aspiration.
Among those consulted were the Ilaje Local Government party executives; the Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Elder) Felix Aleke; Legal Adviser, Barr. Tope Odidi, Ward II Chairman, Bishop Festus (Mahin); Engr. Sunday Femi (Mahin Ward); Hon. (Pst.) Omo Sola (Ugbo Ward III); Elder Ayakar, a prominent ADC stakeholder in Ilaje; Ward VI Chairman, Omoyegha Tokunbo; and Prince Gbenga of Ugbo Ward V. Also present was Hon. Stephen Omoniyi, Ward Chairman of Aheri.
In a related development, key executives of Ese-Odo Local Government chapter of the ADC also participated in the meeting, underscoring broader party alignment across the federal constituency.
Those in attendance included the ADC Local Government Chairman, Comrade Ofiya ThankGod; Vice Chairman, Mr. Obolo Abimbola; Deputy General Secretary, Mr. Amos Eninidi; Financial Secretary, Mr. Maxwell Ajele; Woman Leader, Mrs. Lauren Jounghan; Welfare Leader, Bro. Shesheboh Egbeemi; Deputy Publicity Secretary, Comrade Benjamin Ebi Prosper; Deputy Treasurer, Mr. Omoshein Ebikpogba; and Organising Secretary, Mr. Temidire Kukoyi.
The consultations are part of Kowei’s early political strategy to build consensus and deepen grassroots support ahead of what is expected to be a competitive 2027 electoral cycle in the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency.
