Nigerian music star Peter Okoye has taken a dramatic step that underscores the worsening breakdown in his relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, announcing he will no longer celebrate his birthday on their shared birth date, November 18.
Peter, who was born alongside Paul on November 18, 1981, revealed via social media that he will not be accepting messages or gifts on that date. Instead, he has moved his personal celebration to November 30, describing the decision as strictly personal, but the timing suggests deeper tensions at play.
For years, November 18 symbolized more than just a birthday; it was a brand in itself. As the iconic duo P-Square, the brothers marked their birthdays with joint celebrations, synchronized public appearances, and coordinated messages that reinforced their unity both as family and business partners.
That unity has now all but collapsed.
Sources close to the situation say the latest move reflects how far relations have deteriorated between the brothers and their elder sibling, Jude Okoye, who once managed their careers. What began as disagreements over finances and control has spiraled into a prolonged feud marked by public accusations and counterclaims.
Peter has accused Paul and Jude of sidelining him and engaging in financial misconduct, while Paul has fired back with allegations that Peter involved the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in their disputes, an escalation that further fractured already fragile ties.
The situation reached a boiling point in June 2025 when Peter publicly declared he had completely cut off from his brothers, signaling a near-total collapse of both family and professional relations.
Now, by walking away from November 18, a date that once defined their identity as twins and global music partners, Peter appears to be drawing a hard line. What used to be a shared celebration has become another casualty in a feud that shows little sign of resolution.
