Panic erupted in the early hours of Monday at Mando Motor Park in Kaduna State after a bus powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) exploded, sending shockwaves across the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the blast was loud and intense, initially causing many residents to fear it was a bomb explosion. The incident triggered brief chaos and confusion within the vicinity as people scrambled for safety.

The affected bus was immediately engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading rapidly to two other buses belonging to the same transport company parked nearby. Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing into the sky as stunned onlookers gathered at the scene.

Despite the severity of the explosion, no casualties were recorded. However, the vehicles involved were said to have been extensively damaged.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown. The incident has, however, raised fresh concerns over the safety and handling of CNG-powered vehicles in public transport hubs.

Authorities are expected to commence a full investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and prevent future occurrences.
