A youth organisation, The Itsekiri Front, has thrown its weight behind the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Delta South, Dr. Austin Orette, describing him as the “best hope” for the district’s development.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Warri, the group praised Orette for what it called his ability to inspire “fresh hopes and vigour” among the people of Delta South.
“Dr. Austin Orette represents the vision of the new Delta South Senatorial District. He will serve the good people of the district to the best of his power,” the group said.

The Itsekiri Front further described the candidate as a man of “stainless character,” a humanist, and a champion of liberty, noting that “the firmness and energy of Dr. Austin Orette have been admirable.”

According to the group, the Delta South senatorial race “should be the exclusive preserve of serious minds,” insisting that Orette stands out as a credible and capable contender.
“Dr. Austin Orette is the best hope for the development of the district,” the statement added.

The group also highlighted Orette’s vision and blueprint for the senatorial district, expressing confidence in his ability to drive economic growth, create employment, and promote inclusiveness.
“We trust him. He will promote the interests of the Itsekiri Nation, build a better life for the people, boost economic growth and create employment. He will also act as is best for the safety and dignity of all,” the group stated.

The statement, signed by the spokesman of the Itsekiri Front, Engineer Temisanren Fregene, also appreciated what it described as growing support for Orette’s candidacy across ethnic lines.
“We thank Isoko women and Ijaw leaders for unanimously supporting Orette’s senatorial bid,” it said.

The group concluded by pointing to Orette’s “learning, reputation, and exposure” as key attributes that qualify him for legislative responsibilities.

“Dr. Austin Orette’s learning, reputation, and exposure make us think him well qualified for the task he wishes to undertake – that of representing Delta South in the National Assembly,” the statement noted.
