Hon. Princess Piriye Kabaka Ehuwa has marked her 50th birthday with a deeply spiritual celebration, dedicating her Golden Jubilee to church activities and thanksgiving rather than a conventional social gathering.
Hon. Princess Ehuwa, daughter of the popular musical legend, Easy Kabaka Brown, a prominent figure and widely celebrated indigene, hails from Finima in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.
In an interview conducted on the 21st of April, 2026, she reflected on her life, faith, and journey in public service, describing the milestone as “an altar of gratitude” and emphasizing that her identity is rooted more in service to God than in politics or business. She also spoke on balancing her professional responsibilities with her commitment as a chorister, while encouraging others to prioritize faith despite busy schedules.

1. "Happy 50th birthday, ma. Can we meet you, please?
Thank you so much. I am Hon. Princess Piriye Ehuwa (Nee Kabaka), by the grace of God. I serve my people in the political space, I’m in business, and most importantly, I am a child of God, Deaconess, a committed chorister in my local church and at the national level. But if you strip all the titles away, I’m just a woman who is grateful that God kept me to see 50 in good health and sound mind.
2. How would you describe what this 50th birthday means to you?
50 is my Golden Jubilee, and for me it’s an altar of thanksgiving. It’s not just about age, it’s about mercy. When I look back at where God picked me from, the battles He fought for me, and the doors He opened, I can only bow. This birthday is saying to God, “Lord, You have been faithful. Here is my life again, use it for Your glory.”
3. Why did you choose to dedicate your entire Golden Jubilee to church activities? Various choir groups visited you this morning, and we are here in church celebrating with you now.
Because my life belongs to God first. Before politics, before business, I was His. At 50, I wanted no distractions, no loud party that fades tomorrow. I wanted heaven to take record that Princess Piriye Ehuwa at 50 gave God all the glory. The choir visits this morning were not planned by me; my brother Dr. Gbara, Knights of the Anglican, came with numbers of choristers around 6am and the choristers of our followed -they were God’s surprise. When you honor God, He sends people to honor you. So we are here in church because this is where my help comes from.
4. You serve as a chorister alongside many youths and children. How do you manage that role given your status as a public figure and your age?
I forget my title when I enter the choir stand. I joined the choir at 10 and I will continue using my gift for God till I'm aged. So I don’t see myself as too big or too old to be here.
And honestly, whatever challenges they may pose to us, I may have done the same to the elders when I was a teenager. That thought keeps me humble and patient. In the choir, we are all servants — same uniform, same rehearsal, same correction from the choir master.
If Jesus at 30 could wash feet, who am I at 50 not to stand with teenagers and sing alto? My status is not in office; my status is in service.
5. How do you combine your busy business and political schedules with your commitment to serving God?
By putting God in my calendar first. My Bible calls it “seek ye first.” Campaigns, contracts, and meetings will always be there, but I block out my church service time and choir rehearsals like I block out executive meetings.
I’m humbled that people have noticed that I make time for God despite my busy schedule. Truth is, it’s God’s grace. If I can keep appointments with men, I must keep appointments with God. Honestly, it’s God that orders my steps in business and politics because I give Him time. The secret is priority, not availability.
6. What advice would you give to people with busy schedules on how to create time to serve God?
Start small, but start now. You don’t need 5 hours. Give God your first 15 minutes daily, no phone, just prayer and Word. And don’t separate your life: serve God in your business with integrity, serve God in politics with truth. Then physically show up in church when you can.
Busy is not an excuse; it’s a test of love. If you love Him, you will make time. David was a king, yet he said, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” If a king could create time, so can we.
I pray the Lord will give everyone hearing -and me too, more grace to keep enjoying His goodness even into old age, in Jesus' name". She Concluded.
In all, Hon. Princess Piriye Kabaka Ehuwa’s Golden Jubilee was not just a celebration of age, but a clear statement of identity and values. By choosing worship over revelry, she reframed what milestone celebrations can represent, placing purpose above prestige. Her message resonates beyond the occasion: that true fulfillment lies not in titles or timelines, but in a life anchored on faith, service, and gratitude.
