Political activities have begun to heat up in Imo State’s Ohaji/Egbema axis following the official declaration of Joseph Chukwuma Ikunna to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

Ikunna, who is seeking to represent the Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency, made his intention known amid growing political realignments and heightened consultations across the constituency.

His declaration is seen as an early signal of what is expected to be an intense political contest, as stakeholders and aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 polls.
