Koko, a historic town in Delta State, is set to witness an elite convergence of Nigeria’s most influential figures as celebrities, sporting legends, political leaders, and top business executives prepare to storm the Canaanland Golf Course and Country Club on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The high-profile gathering marks the second anniversary of the prestigious golf facility, an event organizers say will blend sport, class, and strategic networking in a uniquely curated experience.
Chairman of the club, Hon. Felix Aganbi, in a statement issued on Monday, disclosed that the anniversary tournament will attract some of the world’s most celebrated golfers, alongside a distinguished lineup of guests from across Nigeria and beyond.
According to him, the anniversary is more than just a sporting event—it is a celebration of excellence and refinement.
“The second anniversary of the Canaanland Golf and Country Club is a celebration of sport, style, and distinction. It promises a unique and unforgettable experience for all participants,” Aganbi said.
He noted that since its establishment, the Canaanland Golf Course and Country Club has rapidly carved a niche for itself as a premier destination for golf in Nigeria, hosting several high-profile tournaments and setting new standards within the sport.
Aganbi further emphasized the inclusive nature of the anniversary tournament, stating that it will cater to a wide range of participants—from beginners and casual golfers to competitive amateurs and seasoned professionals.
“This anniversary tournament will test the skills of golfers across all levels, reinforcing our commitment to sportsmanship and excellence,” he added.
Beyond the greens, the event is also expected to serve as a melting point for power players in politics and business, providing a platform for strategic engagements and relationship building.
Activities lined up for the celebration include competitive golf sessions, networking opportunities, an award ceremony, and an exclusive luncheon for invited guests.
With participants expected from within and outside Nigeria, the anniversary will also spotlight the club’s core values of friendship, service, and fellowship—hallmarks of what organizers describe as the “Canaanland spirit.”
As anticipation builds, all eyes will be on Koko this May as it plays host to one of the most glamorous and influential gatherings on Nigeria’s social and sporting calendar.
