In a vibrant blend of sport and spirituality that lit up the Bori community this weekend, Deeper Life Bible Church organised a high-spirited Football Mobilisation Tournament designed to rally Christians and young people ahead of the much-anticipated Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) scheduled in the region.

The heart-pumping tournament, which drew youth teams and spectators from across Rivers State, was more than just a sporting showpiece — it was a soul-winning strategy. With shouts of encouragement, spirited cheers, and faith-inspiring chants, participants embraced the dual call of athletic excellence and spiritual awakening as they competed under the sunlit fields of Bori.

Organisers said the football mobilisation was intended to bring the youth into community fellowship, deepen their faith, and invite them to the coming GCK Global Crusade — a global evangelistic outreach convened by Pastor (Dr.) William F. Kumuyi, founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

A Prelude to a Mighty Move of God

The GCK series has become one of the most significant gospel crusades in contemporary Christian evangelism, drawing multitudes eager for salvation, healing, and a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit. Earlier editions of GCK — including crusades in major Nigerian cities and abroad — have seen powerful testimonies of life transformation and spirited worship gatherings. 

Speaking on the vision behind the mobilisation tournament, church leaders described how football — a universal passion among young Nigerians — serves as a bridge to meaningful conversations about faith, hope and Christ’s redemptive love.
“We are not just playing a game,” said one youth coordinator, “we are inviting hearts to receive Christ, to be part of something bigger — the great harvest of souls at the upcoming GCK Crusade.”

Who Is Pastor Dr. W. F. Kumuyi?

Pastor (Dr.) William Folorunso Kumuyi stands as one of Nigeria’s most respected evangelical leaders, known for his unwavering commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ since founding the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in 1973. Under his leadership, the ministry — also called Deeper Life Bible Church — has grown into a global Pentecostal movement, with millions of believers worldwide. 

At over eight decades of life and ministry, Pastor Kumuyi continues to champion holiness, doctrinal soundness, and evangelistic fervour. As convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi, he has committed to taking the life-changing message of Christ into both established cities and emerging communities across continents, targeting spiritual renewal, deliverance, and mass conversions.

Church leaders in Bori have pledged that the football mobilisation is just the beginning. One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route.
