As Ondo State marks its golden jubilee, a leading youth advocate and aspirant for the position of National Financial Secretary of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Abedenigo Samuel Opere, has extended warm felicitations to Honourable Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary.

In a goodwill message released on Monday, Comr. Opere described the anniversary as a moment of deep reflection on Ondo State’s journey, resilience and democratic growth, while also celebrating leaders who continue to give purposeful representation to their people.

He commended Hon. Ojogo for what he termed “responsive, courageous and people-oriented representation” at the National Assembly, stressing that youths across Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency have unwavering confidence in his ability to effectively articulate their aspirations at the national level.

According to Opere, Hon. Ojogo’s commitment to grassroots engagement, legislative advocacy and inclusive governance has earned him the trust and support of young people in the constituency, who see him as a dependable voice in national affairs.

The IYC National Financial Secretary aspirant further used the opportunity to formally restate his intention to contest the IYC National Financial Secretary position, noting that his aspiration is driven by a desire to strengthen transparency, accountability and youth-focused development within the council.

“As a youth leader, I believe in responsible leadership and strategic financial management as tools for empowering Ijaw youths nationwide,” Opere said, adding that his ambition aligns with the broader vision of building a stronger, more united and progressive IYC.

He congratulated the government and people of Ondo State on the golden jubilee celebration, expressing optimism that the next phase of the state’s history would deliver greater inclusion, development and opportunities for young people.

Ondo State was created on February 3, 1976, and the 50th anniversary celebrations have continued to attract goodwill messages from leaders, stakeholders and youth groups across the Niger Delta and beyond.
