The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially released the timetable for the 2027 General Elections, fixing the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, February 20, 2027.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, made the announcement during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, stating that the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections will hold two weeks later, on Saturday, March 6, 2027.

According to the Commission, the release of the timetable is in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2022 (as amended).

Prof. Amupitan warned political parties and aspirants to strictly adhere to the approved schedule, stressing that campaigning outside the stipulated period would amount to a violation of electoral guidelines.
