𝗕𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲,

The Delta State Government has presented a total of 65 brand new utility vehicles to traditional rulers across the state in recognition of their vital role in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and grassroots governance.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday, handed over 60 brand new Prado Land Cruisers and 5 Toyota Land Cruisers to royal fathers drawn from various kingdoms in Delta State.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Governor Oborevwori described traditional rulers as critical stakeholders in governance, noting that they remain the closest authority to the people at the grassroots level. According to him, the vehicles are meant to enhance their mobility and effectiveness in discharging their responsibilities.

“Our royal fathers play a central role in sustaining peace, resolving communal disputes, preserving culture, and ensuring harmony in our communities. This gesture is to support them and further strengthen grassroots engagement across Delta State,” the governor said.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, security, and continuous collaboration with traditional institutions to drive sustainable development. The governor also urged the beneficiaries to continue to promote peace, unity, and development in their respective domains, stressing that peace remains a fundamental requirement for economic growth and social stability.

In their separate remarks, some of the traditional rulers expressed profound gratitude to the state government, describing the gesture as unprecedented and a clear demonstration of respect for the traditional institution. They pledged their continued support for the Oborevwori administration’s MORE Agenda, particularly in maintaining peace and stability across Delta communities.

The event was attended by top government officials, members of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, political stakeholders, and other dignitaries.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route. Local authorities are expected to begin investigations into the incident.
