In what stakeholders have described as a defining moment in the push for digital inclusion and youth empowerment in the Niger Delta, the Tompolo Foundation, in strategic partnership with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and PEB ICT Services, has successfully trained and equipped 100 youths from Delta State with cutting-edge information and communication technology (ICT) skills.
The historic initiative, fully funded by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and technically anchored by PEB ICT Services, spanned an intensive six-month hands-on ICT training programme, culminating in a colourful graduation ceremony held on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, said the programme was deliberately designed to prepare Niger Delta youths for relevance in today’s fast-evolving digital economy. According to him, the beneficiaries received practical training in computer applications, web development, graphics design, cybersecurity, and data analysis, skills he described as critical to employability, entrepreneurship, and global competitiveness.
High Chief Pondi noted that beyond training, each graduate was presented with a laptop, a move he described as a sustainability-driven intervention aimed at eliminating post-training barriers and enabling immediate productivity.
“This programme clearly demonstrates the power of collaboration between the private sector and development-oriented institutions in addressing youth unemployment and economic exclusion,” he said, reaffirming Tantita’s unwavering commitment to human capital development across the Niger Delta.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Tompolo Foundation and Proprietor of PEB ICT Services, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, stated that the foundation was established to uplift communities through impactful interventions in education and healthcare, with youth development at the core of its mission.
On his part, the Administrator of PEB ICT Services, Moses Major, described the training as a practical and timely response to the rising challenge of youth unemployment, stressing that digital skills remain one of the strongest tools for economic self-reliance in the modern age.
Responding on behalf of the graduates, Zikorebai Justice expressed profound gratitude to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and the Tompolo Foundation, pledging that the knowledge and tools acquired would be deployed in service of Delta State, the Niger Delta region, and Nigeria at large.
Observers say the initiative stands as yet another testament to how deliberate investments in youth empowerment can reshape the socioeconomic future of the Niger Delta.
