As Nigeria moves steadily toward the 2027 general election, a blistering and unequivocal warning has been sounded against any external political actors seeking to infiltrate, manipulate, or destabilize the politics of Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The press statement Issued by Doyen through News Express Online media outlet and made available to our Ondo State Correspondent, stated in clear and uncompromising terms that Ese-Odo, a peaceful and strategically important riverine area in the Niger Delta, will not tolerate any form of external interference, intimidation, or imported political violence under the guise of the 2027 elections.
Doyen, a respected legal practitioner and social media analyst reportedly issued the warning on Wednesday at the Amassoma waterside in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area Of Bayelsa State. He declared that Ese-Odo is not a playground for political adventurists, mercenaries, or conflict merchants.
“Let it be clearly understood: Ese-Odo will not be turned into a theatre of chaos. Any external force attempting to impose itself on the politics of this local government is inviting serious resistance. The people of Ese-Odo are politically conscious, peace-loving, and fully capable of determining their own future,” he warned.
He reportedly issued a direct charge to the Federal Government and top security institutions, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Nigerian Military, the Nigerian Navy, and other security outfits, to closely monitor, identify, and neutralize any individuals or groups plotting to import unrest into the area.
“Security agencies must not wait for violence to erupt before acting. Those scheming from outside to ignite political tension in Ese-Odo must be tracked, exposed, and stopped. The peace of our communities is sacrosanct and must be defended at all costs,” Doyen declared.
The analyst also delivered a sharp warning to Niger Delta political leaders, urging them to desist from fueling division or sponsoring proxies to destabilize peaceful communities for selfish gain.
“Any leader who trades peace for political advantage is an enemy of the people. True leadership demands restraint, responsibility, and commitment to unity. The Niger Delta has paid enough price for instability,” he said.
Doyen stressed that any attempt to hijack the political process of Ese-Odo from outside the local government or Ondo State would be confronted with lawful civic resistance and the full weight of traditional authority, emphasizing that such actions would not go unanswered.
“Ese-Odo is not weak, and its people are not naive. We will defend our peace, our territory, and our democratic rights. Those testing our resolve should reconsider,” he warned.
He further cautioned that political manipulation, vote-buying, intimidation, or violence would be firmly rejected, warning that the consequences of such actions would be severe and far-reaching.
Quoting an African proverb, he noted that “where there is no peace, power and wealth are useless,” adding that democracy cannot thrive under fear or coercion. He reiterated that elections must reflect the genuine will of the people, not the influence of force or money.
Doyen concluded by insisting that the current security architecture in the region is justified and must be sustained and strengthened ahead of 2027 to prevent breakdown of law and order.
“Ese-Odo must remain peaceful before, during, and after the 2027 general election. Any attempt to change this reality will be decisively resisted. Let this serve as a final warning,” he declared.
