Bayelsa State is gripped by sorrow following a heart-rending appeal by Mrs. Gloria Jacob Kurobo, a visibly broken mother pleading for urgent financial assistance to save the life of her only daughter, who has battled a life-threatening illness for 14 painful years.

The young girl, daughter of prominent Bayelsan Don Jacob Kurobo, is currently in critical condition and urgently needs hip and bladder replacement surgery estimated at ₦15 million—a sum the family can no longer afford.

Fighting back tears while addressing the public, Mrs. Kurobo cried out:

“Please, I am begging you people. My daughter has been lying helpless since last week. The doctors said if we do not act quickly, she may not survive. I am using this platform to beg Bayelsans, the government, and kind-hearted Nigerians to help me save my child.”

Despite years of pain, the young girl’s brilliance shines through her suffering. She is an exceptional talent who has written seven books, completing her most recent manuscript just before her condition deteriorated. Academically outstanding, she scored an impressive 330 in JAMB and passed her WAEC examinations with ease.

Yet, her failing body has cruelly kept her away from school, confining her dreams to a hospital bed.

With a trembling voice, the distraught mother revealed the unimaginable daily burden they face:

“Every single day, we use 18 pieces of Pampers. Every week, we spend over ₦100,000 just on that alone. I have sold everything, even my house. I have nothing left. We are completely exhausted.”

In her desperation, Mrs. Kurobo made a direct emotional appeal to prominent Niger Delta figures and philanthropists, including High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), Kestin Pondi, Joshua MacIver, Ogum Boss, Afrika, and Esiri, begging them not to turn away.

“Don Jacob Kurobo is the biological father of this child. Please, help us. This is a very promising child. I believe God will touch the hearts of those who can save her life.”

The mother pleaded.
