Nigerian Police Open Portal for Recruitment of 50,000 Constables

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially opened the national recruitment portal for the enlistment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Force. The move follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to massively expand police manpower and strengthen internal security across the country.
According to the PSC, the online application process begins on Monday, 15 December 2025, and will run until Sunday, 25 January 2026. Applicants are expected to submit their forms exclusively through the official portal once active.
Qualifications & Categories
The recruitment covers two major cadres:
1. General Duty Constables
- Must possess five (5) credits in WAEC/NECO/GCE, including English and Mathematics.
- Age requirement: 18–25 years.
2. Specialists Cadre
- Requires four (4) O’Level credits including English and Mathematics.
- Must have a minimum of three years’ work experience in relevant fields.
- Age requirement: 18–28 years.
The PSC emphasized that all applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must be physically, medically, and psychologically fit. Minimum height requirements remain 1.67m for men and 1.64m for women.
Recruitment Is Free
Authorities warned the public to be wary of scammers, stressing that the entire recruitment exercise is completely free, and applications should only be submitted via the official PSC portal.
