 There is massive jubilation among civil servants in Ebonyi State after Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru approved a ₦150,000 Christmas bonus for every worker in the state civil service ahead of the 2025 festive season.

According to official announcements, the one-off bonus was declared on Sunday, December 14, 2025, during a church service at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki. The governor described the gesture as part of his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of state workers, even amid reported challenges with dwindling state revenues this year.

The news has been met with celebrations across the civil service, with many workers expressing delight and relief as they prepare for the Christmas period. The bonus complements recent measures by the state government to enhance workers’ welfare.

Governor Nwifuru’s announcement comes amid ongoing political and economic developments in the state, as he also touched on other state matters while addressing the congregation.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route. Local authorities are expected to begin investigations into the incident.
