Yerima Finally Sacked after The Controversy.

The dust has finally settled around the controversy trailing Muktar Umar Yerima as the National and State House of Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal in Kano has sacked the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) lawmaker.

The tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately withdraw the certificate of return earlier issued to Yerima.

Yerima’s victory had been challenged by Hafizu Kawu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who argued that the NNPP candidate was not qualified to contest the Tarauni Federal Constituency seat.

According to Daily Trust, the three-man panel led by Justice I.P. Chima ruled that Yerima forged his primary school certificate, rendering his candidacy invalid. The tribunal further held that Yerima’s claim of a 2022 change of name could not stand, especially as he has used three names — Umar Mukhtar Zakari — on his international passports since 2009, while the controversial primary school certificate still bears Umar Mukhtar.

Adding to his woes, Hausawa Primary School, where the certificate supposedly originated, disowned the document entirely.

With the findings, the tribunal concluded that the NNPP effectively had no valid candidate in the election, leading to Yerima’s removal.

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route. Local authorities are expected to begin investigations into the incident.
