Finally PDP Heavyweight, Agbo-Ola Defect to APC in Ondo State

In what has been described as a major political realignment in Ondo State, prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Engr. Joshua Agboola (O’MU YES) and Mr. Akinrinlola Ojo, alongside the entire Idanre Progressive Forum — the largest youth movement in Idanre — have officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Representing the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the well-attended event was Hon. Fade’ Ojamomi, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs.

The occasion attracted several political bigwigs, including the Commissioner for Arts and Culture, Hon. Adesoji Afolabi, former House of Representatives Member for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, APC executives in Idanre Local Government, and a host of enthusiastic party faithful.

Speaking on behalf of the new defectors, Engr. Agboola and Mr. Ojo described their move as a reflection of the “total collapse” of the PDP in the state and their admiration for the transformative leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa.

According to them, “The PDP has lost touch with the people. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has redefined governance through his strides in infrastructure, human capital development, civil service welfare, and inclusive policies. We are proud to align with his vision for a better Ondo State.”

The new APC members pledged their total loyalty to the Governor, vowing to work tirelessly for his administration’s success and to support the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Party leaders, including Hon. Adefisoye and Hon. Afolabi, commended the decampees for their boldness and assured them of full integration into the APC structure.

Delivering the Governor’s goodwill message, Hon. Ojamomi congratulated the new members for “making the right political decision” and for uniting former PDP structures in Ofosu, Opa, and surrounding communities under the APC.

He said, “Your decision to join the All Progressives Congress is a clear expression of confidence in the visionary and people-centered leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa. Together, we are building a stronger, more prosperous, and united Ondo State.”

One Feared Dead, Another Injured in Ghastly Accident in Agadagba-Obon By NigerDelta Voice Reporters, Ondo State Correspondent. 24th November, 2025 A tragic motor accident occurred earlier today in Agadagba-Obon, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The deceased, identified simply as Help , reportedly lost his life after the vehicle involved in the incident somersaulted multiple times. Another occupant, identified as Philip Ojuri , sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened suddenly, throwing the victims from the vehicle as it overturned. The cause of the crash is yet to be officially confirmed, but community members have called for caution on the increasingly dangerous route. Local authorities are expected to begin investigations into the incident.
